Privacy & data use

How MCSeedLore handles map links, community accounts, submissions, interactions and feedback.

Map calculations, links and seed submissions

Map calculations run in your browser without an account. Map state is written into the URL, which is sent to the website infrastructure when opened or refreshed and may remain in browser history. Anyone with the link can read its seed and coordinates.

Creating a short link stores its map state on the server. Community submissions store a title, description, tags, map state, visibility, author and timestamps. Approved public submissions appear in the directory and may be indexed by search engines. Unlisted submissions stay out of the public directory but are accessible to anyone with the link.

Information in a feedback report

A submitted report stores its category, message, language, map engine version, creation time and processing status. A contact email is optional. The current seed and map state are attached only when you select the attachment checkbox.

Reports are available to authorized administrators for investigating problems and processing feedback; they are not shown on public pages. Avoid entering passwords, private server details or other sensitive information in a report.

The current application has no automatic feedback deletion schedule or self-service deletion control. You can use the feedback form to ask about a report; include only enough information to identify it.

Community accounts, interactions and moderation

Registration stores a display name, email and a hashed password. Your display name appears with posts and comments; your email is not displayed publicly. Sign-in uses session cookies, and session records may include IP addresses and browser information. Email verification and email password recovery are not currently available.

Likes, favorites and comments are associated with your account. Your favorites list requires sign-in; public pages show aggregate counts. Comments become public after moderation, reports are handled by administrators, and moderation actions are kept in audit records.

Removing a submission or comment stops its public display but does not immediately erase its database record; records may remain for moderation and auditing. There is currently no automatic content retention period or self-service account deletion. Use the feedback form for related requests. Do not submit private server seeds or sensitive personal information.

Hosting and abuse prevention

Website requests pass through Cloudflare hosting infrastructure, which receives request information such as the URL and IP address. Infrastructure logging and retention are separate from the map calculation in your browser.

Feedback and community actions use hashes derived from request IP addresses and a server secret, plus request counts, for rate limiting. Expired entries are cleaned up in batches during later requests. Fonts and the map engine are served with the site; the application has no advertising scripts.

Public page analytics

The production site uses our self-hosted Umami at stats.locatorbarminecraft.com to count public page views. Payloads contain the website ID, fixed hostname, a filtered public route, five bounded UTM campaign labels and external referring origins. Email, phone, order and token-like campaign values are rejected. Other query parameters, fragments, referring pages, seeds, coordinates, submissions and account identifiers are excluded. Account, moderation, submission, seed-detail and short-link pages are excluded.

The tracker does not set browser cookies or use identity or session-replay features. The collector and infrastructure receive the request IP address. We respect your browser Do Not Track setting. You can also disable Umami for this site by running localStorage.setItem("umami.disabled", "1") in this site’s browser developer tools and reloading.
